The first stage of deciding to have a Botox or Filler treatment is to make an appointment for a free consultation. At a Botox or filler consultation the practitioner will use all their experience and qualification to assess your needs and advise you on the various options of treatments which would suit your needs. Very often clients ask for Botox when in fact its fillers they need and vice versa. The Botox consultation involves several different stages including before photographs, a medical assessment and of course a needs assessment. Its important to match the required result to the actual result obtained. Its just as important to ensure you know what exactly to expect from your Botox or Filler treatment, both in the short term and in the long term.

Botox can react differently in one individual from another, this may be down to existing conditions before treatment such as heavy eye brows, more established lines and the general aesthetics of the face.

Although Botox is used mainly in the upper third of the face it can also be used in the lower face by a very experienced and highly trained practitioner.

In general Botox is the best treatment for dynamic lines and wrinkles such as frown lines and crows feet, but in some cases our practitioners will select a filler to treat these lines.

Facial fillers in general are used to treat lower face lines, wrinkles and folds, its really important, at your consultation that your practitioner can identify the cause of lower face wrinkles as treating the cause rather than the symptoms will get a more favorable result.

With a Facial Filler consultation the best practice is to assess the face globally.

BOTOX

Botox is a muscle relaxant and is used most often in the upper third of the face. It will reduce the dynamic frown lines across the forehead, the vertical lines between the eye brows and the crows feet. Some people elect to have all three areas treated while others elect just to have one of these areas treated.

Botox is administered by injection and can take from 2 to 10 days for results. From the date of the initial treatment Botox should last from 8 to 12 weeks. The variation in duration of results is dependent on each individual. The more active the face, the more established the lines, the more dense the muscles, all have an effect on the duration of your Botox result.

Botox is a toxin type A and there are now many on the market. Very often clinics will advertise Botox but will administer a different toxin. Botox is the original toxin and is clinically proven to be reliable and more predictable then any other.

We offer two types of toxin type A for the treatment of frown lines and crows feet. The second is Azzalure. Azzalure differs from Botox in that it migrates more and therefore practitioners have less focus on sites of injection. Botox can be injected into small parts of a muscle to reduce movement in just that part of the muscle and therefore obtain a certain desired effect. However with Azzalure, its likely that the whole of muscle will be effected which prevents a more tailored treatment been achieved.

We will offer you a free review appointment about two to four weeks after your initial Botox treatment. We do this for two main reasons. Firstly it allows us to make any finer corrects to get the result and affect you wanted and secondly, it allows our practitioners to constantly reflect on the results we give and ensure we offer only the best. Its important to us that you are satisfied with your Botox treatment and that we feel we are providing the best possible after care service.

FACIAL FILLER

The difference between Botox and a filler is that the filler will, fill in. Dermal fillers also called facial fillers are a gel in a syringe. The gel comprises of a natural substance called Hyluronic acid which is found within your own skin. One of the functions of Hyluronic acid is to improve hydration of the skin and all fillers will do this to various degrees.

Juvederm is a facial filler produced by Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox. Juvederm comes is different sizes or thickness and is the most clinically tested and medically proven facial filler on the market. The advances in filler technology made by Allergan above other filler manufacturers mean that Juvederm lasts longer and unlike other fillers, the results improve within the first 2 to 8 weeks rather than fade.

Juvederm can be used to treat all areas of the face. The most popular areas for Juvederm are cheeks, tear troughs, lines above the lip, nose to mouth lines, the lips, mouth to chin lines and the jaw line.
